Decreasing Derbydave
Oops.
Weight loss is a state of mind. Having Ashley in hospital has scrambled
mine. Eating after tea and "hoovering" the kids sweets after they've
gone to bed has put a few pounds back on but I'm maintaining a weight
under 13 and a half.
As I was touching 14 stone at the start of this, I'm still pleased.
I'm less puffed and feel "cleaner".
13 stone isn't too far away now.

13 stone 3 pounds
Not eating after Tea seems to be working. Well mostly not eating after
Tea. We're munching our way through some really nice small red apples
from Asda at the moment.
I feel lighter and each time I've recovered from a physical spell at
work (Sunday ish) I feel a lot stronger. The aches in my knees
have gone as has that sluggish feeling in the morning.
Not far to go to the 13 stone mark.

Evening Snack
I've maintained 13 and a half stone for ages now so I figure it's time for another push.
Evening snax figure large in the Derbydave diet. I graze all evening
despite not being hungry (Gill makes BIG meals with lots of tatas).
Biscuits, crisps, anything that's in the fridge.
I've found out that this sort of calorie intake goes nowhere (unless I
take up evening jogs ... yeah right!) except into my fat reserves.
"Fat reserves". Interesting phrase. Implies that I need to keep a store
of about 30 pounds of fat for emergencies. Like what I wonder? An
apocolypse? A hostage situation? To cushion the impact of a cannonball
(aah, mighty Homer!).
So, the next step in slimming is to stop eating after Tea apart from fruit.
Wish me luck!

Maintaining
13 stone 7lb and steady.
Sensible diet. Active job. No crap in the evening (well less than before)
Aiming for the 13 stone line on the scales now.

Less of me
The 'diet' is going well.
I'm down to 13 and a half stone and feeling better. My knees ache less and the tum is going.
Simply cutting the crap out of my diet has helped a lot. Lots of fruit
and no large portions and keeping active. Makes sense really.

Temptation
It's not until you actively decide to do something about your weight that you notice the temptations that are all around.
Living with two little girls means packs of sweets, Easter eggs, ice
cream: all the goodies that you have in for them. We have fruit and
healthy snacks too (we believe in Balance, not Obsession) but the sweet
things are all there.
I've also noticed my habitual eating. After dinner last night it was
only 40 minutes before I was walking toward the fridge. I was full but
I was ready to nibble. I turned away but was stunned at the brevity of
my feeling full.

Going Down
Told you. Didn't I?
Cut out the crap in your diet and keep active.
Weighed myself this morning and I'm 4 pounds lighter than last week.
My job is a slog and I do eat fruit every day.
No biscuits. No ice cream. No finishing off the Easter Eggs.
Let's see how far this goes.............
